Such a simple thought.
An example of how to be a good mother.
Just the encouragement I needed on a day like today when all sorts of crazy were heading down my path.
This week we started “back to school”. Technically, we never stopped homeschooling. We’re year-round homeschoolers. But today was our official day of our new school grades. It was the day our lives became a little more routine, and we got to start on our new curriculum.
This was also the day which began two hours behind Mom’s schedule because “the littles” haven’t gotten used to the new routine of waking up in the morning hours. It was the day that someone decided the new curriculum wasn’t what she wanted to do and the day someone else decided she couldn’t be expected to talk nicely to her sibling. By noon, I felt like my day/schedule was shot and we would never recover.
Listen to a favorite song, take time to dance/stretch to it.
Today, I received the above encouragement via text message.
It was what this frustrated mom needed — a little comfort for the day. A little play, added to our day, to make all the other stuff seem, well, not so important.
Homeschool Encouragement via Text
I received the above text from Play 4 Life Moms. This text was the second message I received since signing up with them last week. Both were encouraging and came at a time when I really needed them. Play 4 Life Moms is a monthly text subscription that sends you 8-10 texts per month. The texts are a “combination of encouragement and 5-15 minute challenges that trigger awareness to engage with your children or be more mindful of your own self.” By subscribing, you also receive access to a private FaceBook group run by the owners of Play 4 Life Moms. A one-month subscription for these texts of encouragement typically costs $7.50, but for Hide The Chocolate readers you can use the code ENCOURAGE to receive a $5.50 discount for the first 3 months (that’s just $2 per month!). So for the price of a not-so-fancy coffee, you can receive 8-10 jolts of encouragement delivered straight to your phone!

Hi, I’m Dachelle. I’m a homeschooling mom of 3 in the South. I love chocolate and have been known to hide it from my children. I can often be found reading a good book (or even sometimes just an okay book) and enjoying a jar of Nutella — don’t judge. I blog, here, at HideTheChocolate.com when I’m not creating book clubs and making lists…lots and lots of lists (it’s an addiction). Learn more…
