I'm sure by now you have been inundated with emails and social media posts all about the Build Your Bundle homeschool sale. Well, it is the biggest homeschooling sale all year long. And it does contain a lot of super discounted products (think 95% off kind of discounts). But, does it deliver? Is the Build Your Bundle homeschool sale worth all the publicity?
So many people have asked so many questions about the sale. I have tried to answer them honestly and to the best of my ability. Feel free to jump to the question you want answered.
Is the Build Your Bundle sale worth the email barrage?
Honestly, no. I mean NOTHING is worth the massive amount of Build Your Bundle sale emails I receive each year. It makes me want to unsubscribe from everyone. But, that would be counterproductive.
First, I love the blogs I subscribe to every week. I chose them based on their amazing content, heartfelt emails, and their ability to let me know when something great is on the horizon -- which brings me to point number two.
These bloggers that I trust to tell me what they thought about curriculum, give me advice on planning, and share with me their parenting woes are the same people who believe in this sale. Maybe they have a product in the sale. Maybe they LOVE some of the products in the sale. Maybe they just think getting hundreds of dollars of curriculum for pennies on the dollar is just too good a deal for me to pass up. Whatever their motivation they know a good thing and they are sharing it with me. Maybe I should at least check it out.
Is the Build Your Bundle Sale worth the price?
Take a look for yourself. Here's a list of all the bundles that are included in the sale with their individual product prices and their sales prices.
Maybe you could schedule it all out and hit every sale for each product at exactly the right time during the year and get a good discount. But, I don't believe you could ever get as good a deal as you do with this sale. Yes, I am a contributor this year, so I have a vested interest. But, I wasn't a contributor the last 4 years, and I have consistently purchased one or more bundles each year. I simply can't get enough of this sale.
Are the products in the Build Your Bundle Sale quality products?
While I haven't vetted all 280+ products, I have used several of the products in the sale or have used similar products from the companies who created them. Here are some of my favorites:
Well, obviously this is my ultimate favorite! But, even though I wrote it (and am completely biased as to its worth) I can guarantee that there are hours of fun educational activities that are mostly self-led within this book club.
We are currently using this course in our Shakespeare in Spring. It is great for high school, but you can modify it for elementary and middle school which is how we use it.
When we first started homeschooling, Bonnie Hudson was one of our go-to-sites for great resources. This is the Spelling program my youngest will be using next year.
A couple of years ago I heard Luke (the creator of this course) speak about managing screens and protecting your kids from the ugly side of the internet. It made a huge impression and changed the way we looked at things. This course will help you shift your mindset.
So, how can I get all the bundles for the best deal?
Let's make this easy. All the bundles are amazing, and you need them all. So, that's not a likely scenario, but let me play it out so you can see how you can get over $5000 worth of products for $370. It is all in how you use the Buy Two, Get One Free Option. If you were to maximize that discount, you would need to purchase the following bundles:
Bundle 1: Charlotte Mason Bundle $49.00
Bundle 2: Elementary Bundle #1 $39.00
Free Bundle: Elementary Bundle #2 FREE
Bundle 1: Elementary Bundle #3 $39.00
Bundle 2: Upper Grades Bundle #1 $39.00
Free Bundle: Upper Grades Bundle #2 FREE
Bundle 1: Character Bundle $29.00
Bundle 2: Early Learning Bundle #1 $29.00
Free Bundle: Early Learning Bundle #2 FREE
Bundle 1: Early Learning Bundle #3 $29.00
Bundle 2: Parenting Bundle $29.00
Free Bundle: Fine Arts Bundle FREE
Bundle 1: Homeschool Helps Bundle #1 $19.00

Extra Bundle: Thematic Units Bundle $10.00
Now, supposing you are not obsessed with purchasing every. single. bundle., then you can still use this method to get the best deals by combining the Buy 2 Get 1 discount.
Will I use everything in the bundle?
Honestly, I never have, but that doesn't mean you won't. I'm a curriculum hoarder. I buy tons of things that are AWESOME and then I never use them. It's sad and I'm ashamed, but I can't help it. I love curriculum.
This is one of those guilt-free buying times. The bundles are priced at such a deep discount that if I use just ONE of the products in them I have often gotten my money's worth. Usually there's only a couple of products I don't use, so it is definitely worth it for me to go ahead and purchase the bundle.
What if I am overwhelmed with all the options?
Yeah, I get that. Over the years I've spent HOURS strategizing on what I wanted to purchase and how to go about it. Never fear. There are several options you can use to help you come up with a plan.
First, there is the Build Your Bundle Buyer's Guide. It lists each product by category. Just click on the graphic below to get your buyer's guide.
Once you have looked over the list of products, you can download this printable shopping list to help you make "build your bundle."
Now, if you're a tech person, Techie Homeschool Mom has created a FABULOUS spreadsheet to create your bundle (and I can say this because I'm a CPA in a former life ~ we eat, sleep, and breathe spreadsheets). Here's a preview of it.
Now don't let this table stress you out. Because Techie Homeschool Mom also created a tutorial to show you how to use all this spreadsheet goodness. Just hop on over to her instructions by CLICKING HERE.
What if I have problems during the sale?
What if I buy this bundle and forget that I have it?
